Alexandra Park Redland
Our clients are enthusiastic about hosting for friends, whether dinner, drinks, afternoon tea or morning coffee and cake. Therefore, the space needed to be highly functional for cooking and entertaining. The design prioritised a central preparation area, keeping the island free from surface appliances or a sink to maximise the workspace.
Given their love for cooking, the kitchen features versatile ovens with steam, combination steam, and conventional dry heat options. Two large warming drawers are included for proving bread, slow cooking, and keeping food warm. An old fireplace was reinstated and elevated to accommodate the hob and extraction, while the ovens and a slim larder cleverly conceal an awkward pillar.
Additional features include a drinks dresser for the coffee machine and a Belfast sink under the window. The design ensures balanced and symmetrical elevations with ample drawers for practicality. The island also houses an integrated drinks fridge, while the freezer and dishwasher are tucked away in the utility room, keeping any mess out of the central kitchen.
The dining area features two well-balanced and illuminated open displays, perfect for serving food, pouring drinks, and holding additional serving crockery. The cheerful colours work fantastically together, complemented by stunning natural stone, a full-height splashback, and a presentation shelf with charming detailing around the window. This kitchen reflects the client’s personality and enhances their use of their space.
